In this lesson you will explore the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT) on the topic of Including AT in the IEP. As you’ve read, these indicators are research-based, and to know them is to know what is best practice for AT service delivery in the schools. You will be reviewing the QIAT website and supporting documents and determining how well you/your school/your district currently includes AT in the IEP.
Lesson 2 Assignment:
In Activity 1 (below), you will be asked to go to qiat.org and review the following areas:
- The foundation of the Quality Indicators for AT
- The Quality Indicators for including AT in the IEP document
- The Guiding Document for including Assistive Technology in the IEP
Then, you’ll complete the pre-self-appraisal non-graded quiz to rank yourself/your school/your district on including AT in the IEP.
